J: I sometimes have a problem controlling my fire magic. It was really bad when I was a kid.

J: I said stuff like, "I hate fire magic! All it does is hurt people! I wish I was born different!"

J: None of us can change how we were born, but we can still do good with what we've got. Fire is a destructive power, but it can also be a comfort.

J: Take our campfires, for example. They light up the darkness so we can see.

J: We use them to cook.

J: And they keep us warm.

J: I admit I haven't known y'all for very long, but it seems to be you've already made Kieri's life a lot easier. I don't think anyone would push themselves as hard as she does if they didn't feel they had something worth fighting for.

Happy New Year!

I made this announcement earlier on my social media and such, but I just realized I forgot to put something here.

Slightly Damned is on break until February 7!

I'm going to Japan to visit my friend, and to travel with our other friend who's never been there before! It's a trip we wanted to do together since 2020, but, ah, lots of stuff got in the way! I'm sure you can guess at least one reason... but now it's finally time! We're doing it!

I plan to make autobiographical comics about my trip just like the ones I made for my trip back in 2024:https://www.raizap.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/photo_2025-12-31_03-49-28.jpg

I know they're not Slightly Damned pages, but I hope you still enjoy them.

I may go to fewer conventions in 2026. I'm still hoping to hear good news from a few big shows, but I'm not planning on applying to as many cons as I usually do. I want to spend more time at home working on Slightly Damned pages, the website, and drawing art for other people. I also want to start planning the next Kickstarter campaign for Book Four. 2025 was really rough for me. It seems wise for me to stop traveling as much and work on developing my portfolio instead, so to speak.

Thanks as always for all your patience and support. I can't say enough how much I appreciate it. I want to do right by everyone who's helped me get this far. I feel a bit antsy about not streaming or drawing much as a result of all the travel I've been doing, but I think I was starting to get burnt out anyway. I've gotten a lot better at recognizing the signs. Here's hoping I can tackle 2026 with renewed energy upon my return.

It's a scary world out there. Good luck to all of us!
