As of today, Slightly Damned has been going strong for 15 years. Thank you so much, everybody!
- I wrote a little retrospective on what it's been like to work on the comic for all these years.
- For one week only, I've made a pack of 60+ wallpapers available on Gumroad for just $1+!
It's been a while since the following information has been on the front page, so I've updated and am putting it here so it's all visible again.

Hello, y'all! I just want to say that because I will be very busy in February, I have chosen not to update Slightly Damned during this month. The last page you'll see will be page 900 until updates resume in March. Thank you for your patience and understanding! I think I will try to spend time in March making a buffer of Slightly Damned pages so these interruptions are less frequent.
Speaking of March, Slightly Damned's 15th anniversary will be on March 14th. Time flies, huh? I don't have anything special to celebrate in mind, but if you have a suggestion for something you'd like to see me do or make, I'm willing to listen. Leave a comment or see what other people have said on this Patreon post if you're interested: https://www.patreon.com/posts/24300624
Thank you for all the support you've given me over the years. I wouldn't have made it this far without your help!
The Slightly Damned books have arrived at the Hiveworks warehouse, meaning everything will start being shipped out shortly! Please make sure that your address in your surveys is up-to-date and accurate before 1/20!

P.S. I will be vending at Further Confusion in San Jose, CA this weekend! Unfortunately, I don't have any Slightly Damned books with me, but I do have enamel pins and plushies (including Sakido and Iratu)! I will also have copies of The Junk Hyenas Diner as well as animal stickers, pins, and t-shirts. Plus, I'll be offering my usual same day badge commissions. Hope to see you there!
Sorry, but Slightly Damned is on a teensy weeny break. I got sick twice this month with two different illnesses, so I lost a lot of work time and am a bit behind. I need some extra time to get things in order.
From 11/30 through 12/2 I'll be selling my wares at Midwest Fur Fest in Rosemont, Illinois!
On 12/8, a guest comic by Nick Daniel will be posted! He's my friend and the creator of one of my favorite webcomics, Latchkey Kingdom! Also, my other webcomic, The Junk Hyenas Diner, will FINALLY get a 5-page update to conclude the chapter "I Scream Cake!"
On 12/15, Slightly Damned will resume updates as normal. Thank you for understanding! Life is often difficult and unpredictable.
P.S. If you backed the Slightly Damned: Book One Kickstarter back in August, the PDF of the eBook is now available! Check your inboxes or this update for the download link! The book has been sent off to the printer and the merchandise for rewards are being bought this week. We are still on track for physical rewards being delivered in January 2019!

After a year of preparation, my second Kickstarter is now live! This campaign is focused on finally printing physical copies of Slightly Damned!! Please check it out, share, and support it!

- Midwest Fur Fest ~ November 29 - December 2, Rosemont, IL
- Further Confusion ~ January 11 - 15, San Jose, CA
I've applied to Midwest Fur Fest, Furry Weekend Atlanta, and Further Confusion. I'm also debating on whether or not to renew my table for Phoenix Comic Con/Fan Fest/Fan Fusion. More info as it comes!
Slightly Damned will continue to update normally, with one new page every Saturday. Soprano of Time will eventually return as weekly vote incentives until the story concludes, and then regular vote incentives will come back. There will also be 2 monthly wallpapers instead of just 1, with at least one of those being Slightly Damned-related. Art Wednesday illustrations are being discontinued, at least temporarily.
Thanks as always for your patience and support!
In the meantime, I wanted to remind you that my online store is open again! Please check it out for Slightly Damned pins, stickers, plushies, and lots of other goodies!
Also, check out this awesome Buwaro fursuit by Newada_Draco (Twitter / FA) at Further Confusion 2018!!

It really made my con to be able to see this in person! And I am always incredibly humbled whenever I see that anyone has enjoyed my work enough that it's inspired them to make something of their own in turn. Just... wow!
Iratu plushies and enamel pins are now available in my online store! http://chu.storenvy.com
Act fast, though, because I'm closing the shop for approximately two weeks starting this Friday, January 5! That's because a couple of my friends are visiting from the other side of the country, and we're going to go on a mini-road trip that will ultimately end up at...
Further Confusion 2018 in San Jose, CA! (January 11-15) I'll be a dealer, and you can find my table here:
I am ALSO going to be presenting a panel on Monday, the last day of the convention, entitled "Exhibiting at Conventions"! As you can probably tell from the tile, it's aimed towards teaching people how to apply to exhibit at conventions, and what to bring and do once you've gotten a table or booth. It'll be in the Marriott, in the Guadalupe room, on Monday from 1-2:30pm. If you're still around the con and have got nothing better to do, why not drop by? I'm told I'm a pretty good public speaker!
...and then I have to drive hundreds of miles to get back home, so, uh... Slightly Damned updates will be a bit late this month. I don't think I'll have anything ready for January 13, or even the 20th, depending on when I make it back. Sorry about that. At least I won't have any other major trips or events to distract me, so I think I'll be able to make up the missed pages. I hope by February I won't have any other work to make up so I can finally implement my plan for better balance in my life. Phew.
Thanks for your patience and support!
You can find me exhibiting at Midwest Fur Fest in Rosemont, IL this weekend! I'll be selling plenty of prints, stickers, and plushies, as well as copies of The Junk Hyenas Diner: Volume One and same-day commissions!
The hiatus is over! Thank you so much for being patient through Slightly Damned's longest break ever (a whole two months). And thank you very much to all the wonderful artists who helped me out by sending me their guest art! Be sure to check out their art galleries! I'm going to leave their submissions in the archive until the end of the month. As much as I love them, it's a little distracting for readers to come across a ton of filler as they're working their way through the archive.
Here's a post I made on Patreon regarding what I was up to while I was "gone", and what I plan to do moving forward in 2018. The important part is that Slightly Damned will continue to update once per Saturday!

Bonus Guest Art
Unfortunately I was not able to upload Zionus' art during the hiatus, but here is their artwork of Rhea meeting one of their characters! (click the thumbnail to see a larger version)
You can check out more of their artwork here: https://silentone51.deviantart.com/
Also, look at this amazing Buwaro costume TimmCosplay made for Halloween!
You can see him and his girlfriend dressed up as Kazai and Kieri, as well as tons of photos of other awesome cosplays, in his gallery! https://timmcosplay.deviantart.com
October 7's whopping three-page guest comic was provided by my pal, Princessnapped! It's her interpretation of how the purple bird demon might have met that wind Angel they're so sweet on. Hey, you never know: it could be true...
If you like fluffy art, then waste no time checking out the rest of her art!: http://princessnapped.tumblr.com/
October 14's guest art was a three-part series of illustrations done by Sun! It really highlights how much the trio went through on that fateful day in St. Curtis. Super awesome work!
You can see more of their work on their tumblr! https://poo-ichi.tumblr.com/
October 21's guest art is a rad piece done by birb! I really like the lighting here. Don't you think this would make for a rad album cover or something? I bet it would be some sort of fantasy power metal.
You can check out more of their work at their tumblr at: http://kingbirb.tumblr.com
September 2's filler art was provided by Devin Slack! Don't worry, Kieri, this is all just pretend, right? Right??
Check out more of Devin's art at http://judasb3tr4yer.deviantart.com/
8/8September 9's art was provided by Arkaniwulff! They said they took inspiration from a Gundam 0079 poster for this, since I goofed on a Gundam Wing poster a while ago. I should do stuff like that more often!
You can find more of their work here: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/kojikogel/
September 16's art was provided by the unflappable Wingu! Having characters lie down in grass together is such a classic composition; I should try it out myself sometime! Thanks for the cute art, Wingu!
You can check out more of his stuff at: https://twitter.com/
September 23's art was provided by Stront! Sakido's got kind of a rad Osamu Tezuka feeling to her in this picture they did, and I absolutely love it. Thanks for the awesome art, Stront!
Be sure to check out Stront's webcomic, Heros of Thantopolis! I love it, so you probably will, too! http://heroesofthantopolis.com
September 30's art was made by Lady Brightcynder! Wow, it looks like Kieri has her work cut out for her. I would love to play a Mega Man mod like this, but would Kieri be able to use the Demons' powers somehow? Well, anyway, I think this piece is great. Thanks for all your support and the great art, Lady Brightcynder!
You can check out more of her stuff at https://ladybrightcynder.
I am taking a break from Slightly Damned pages in September! And maybe October. I'm not sure yet. Anyway, there will definitely not be any new vote incentives or page updates in September! (The comic will update normally throughout August. The last page before the break is #835.)
"Oh, have a nice vacation!"
I'm not going on vacation! I'm simply not going to work on Slightly Damned pages or vote incentives for a month or two. Instead, I'm going to do any combination of the following: working on The Junk Hyenas Diner, The Legend of Buwaro: Soprano of Time, my 151 Pokemon challenge, new Kickstarter campaign to reprint Slightly Damned books, fixing up outdated parts of the Slightly Damned website. I'll also be helping some close friends of mine with moving.
I'm not sure how much I can actually get done in a month or two since I intend to fulfill every Patreon reward EXCEPT specifically Slightly Damned comic pages and vote incentives. I just know that I'm going to keep busy! So it's not a vacation! And I'm not going anywhere, so you can keep up with what I'm doing on all my usual social media sites.
"But I only support you on Patreon because I want Slightly Damned comics! I'm removing my pledge!"
Hey, that's perfectly understandable and you don't have to justify your decision to me. This and any other time, I welcome you to adjust or remove your pledge anytime you want. But in my defense, my Patreon is for supporting ME, and all my projects; not just Slightly Damned. But FYI: pledging just $1 to an artist's Patreon is a huge help emotionally as well as financially-- it affects the way that fees are calculated and deducted. Instead of removing your pledge entirely, why not just reduce it to $1 for a while?
"So... do you want guest comics/art?"
YES! I would love guest comics and art to put up each Saturday that I'm "off" of making SD comics!
If you would like your guest comic or art to be featured here, please email it to chu [at] raizap.com! Please include your art, your preferred name and pronoun, and a link back to your website/art account/other work!
If you send it any other way, I can't guarantee that I'll be able to keep track of it (since I manage a lot of different accounts). Also, depending on how many I receive, I can't guarantee that all of them will be featured. Maybe I'm being overly optimistic, but... either way, I'll share what I get the best I can.
EDIT: I've got enough guest art to tide me over until I start updating again in November. Thank you all for your contributions!
Thank you all for your patience and support!
