Hi folks! First of all, I want to give a big THANK YOU to everyone who gave me a tip, bought something from my store, got a commission from me, and told me some kind words. Summer is always a bad time for me, and summer of 2020 has been one of the roughest. But your generosity helped me buy groceries and pet food, and your encouragement kept my spirits up. I'm still very fortunate in that my living situation is stable, but every little bit helps from the gaping hole that all the canceled conventions left in my life-- and bank account.
Now onto some good news: one of the things I've been working hard on behind the scenes is the preparations for the next Slightly Damned Kickstarter! This time, our goal is to print the new, improved, full-of-new-bonus-material second edition of Slightly Damned: Book Two. (In short, the first edition was long-discontinued years ago because it was made via print-on-demand, with weak binding and a prohibitively expensive price.) This new Kickstarter is very similar to the previous one, so some of you will know what to expect from the tiers: the chance to write gag comics, nominate redrawn pages, and nab original pencils! There are also new goodies, like prints and stickers. As for stretch goals, there is only one: printing Book Three as well.

The Kickstarter will run from October 1st through October 30th, just before Halloween. I'll be trying to promote the campaign as much as I can on my social media and art sites by drawing a bunch of art. It's my dream to someday collect the whole comic into printed books, so this is an important step towards that goal! Once the project launches, I'll make a new post with the link.
Hello, everyone! I hope you all are doing as well as you can be in these harrowing times. As you are already aware, pretty much all conventions have been cancelled or postponed until at least 2021 due to covid-19. That means I've lost anywhere from one third to one half of my total income for the year, if not longer. Thankfully I am lucky to be in a stable living situation with my close friends, so I'm currently in no danger of starving or being evicted. Still, losing that much money is a huge bummer, and it means keeping up with bills is a bit harder than usual. Plus, with how inconsiderate my fellow Americans are being about staying away from crowds and wearing masks, who knows how long this mess will last?
Although I'm not in an emergency situation, I would appreciate your help if you like my work. Patreon (http://patreon.com/raizap) is my primary source of income, and even a small amount each month helps out a lot! Even just $2/month can help me with transaction fees and taxes. There are lots of exclusive goodies that you can unlock by being a patron, from being able to suggest ideas for and download exclusive wallpapers, to seeing comic pages a week in advance!
If a subscription isn't your style, then please consider buying some merchandise from me. You can get Slightly Damned books and prints from my Hivemill store (https://hivemill.com/collections/slightly-damned)! I also sell Slightly Damned plushies and lots of cute animal-themed t-shirts, stickers, lanyards, enamel pins, and more on my Storenvy (http://chu.storenvy.com)!
And if you don't care for subscriptions, and aren't interested in buying any wares at the moment, I do occasionally open up for commissions. Openings are announced through my art sites and social media, so keep an eye out! And, hey, if you would just like to give me money, I wouldn't say no to a tip or two at this crucial time: https://www.paypal.me/sdamned
By the way, I am currently making preparations to launch a Kickstarter for the reprinting of Slightly Damned: Book Two! It will be very similar to the 2018 campaign to reprint Book One. I don't have a concrete launch date for it yet, as I am a bit behind on my work, but I am hoping it will happen sometime around late summer to early fall.
If money is tight right now, like it is for millions of people, but you'd still like to support me, don't underestimate the power of word of mouth! I'm just one small creator doing their best to work on their passion project. It's easy for me to be overlooked in an endless sea of entertainment and social media fighting for people's attention. Even if all you do is tell one friend that Slightly Damned's archive is worth reading, that can be a huge help! And not just because I get ad revenue from readers visiting the site... it's also because I've put a lot of time and effort into making this story, and it means a lot to me. That one suggestion might ripple out across friend circles to make a big change in someone's life. Besides, who couldn't use a bit of escapism into a fantasy world about animes--I mean Angels-- and furries--I mean Demons-- these days?
I am fortunate enough to be able to keep doing what I'm doing thanks only to the support I receive through the people who enjoy my art. Comic updates and artwork for me will continue as long as my life and mental health remain stable enough.
Remember: Black Lives Matter, Trans Rights are Human Rights, wash your hands, stay at home if you can, and wear a mask if you can't. I wish you all the best, and I hope that we can all get through this together!

As of today, Slightly Damned has been going strong for 15 years. Thank you so much, everybody!
It's been a while since the following information has been on the front page, so I've updated and am putting it here so it's all visible again.

Is there a convention in your area that you'd love to see me at? Please let me know! I love traveling and checking out new places.
Hello, y'all! I just want to say that because I will be very busy in February, I have chosen not to update Slightly Damned during this month. The last page you'll see will be page 900 until updates resume in March. Thank you for your patience and understanding! I think I will try to spend time in March making a buffer of Slightly Damned pages so these interruptions are less frequent.
Speaking of March, Slightly Damned's 15th anniversary will be on March 14th. Time flies, huh? I don't have anything special to celebrate in mind, but if you have a suggestion for something you'd like to see me do or make, I'm willing to listen. Leave a comment or see what other people have said on this Patreon post if you're interested: https://www.patreon.com/posts/24300624
Thank you for all the support you've given me over the years. I wouldn't have made it this far without your help!
The Slightly Damned books have arrived at the Hiveworks warehouse, meaning everything will start being shipped out shortly! Please make sure that your address in your surveys is up-to-date and accurate before 1/20!

P.S. I will be vending at Further Confusion in San Jose, CA this weekend! Unfortunately, I don't have any Slightly Damned books with me, but I do have enamel pins and plushies (including Sakido and Iratu)! I will also have copies of The Junk Hyenas Diner as well as animal stickers, pins, and t-shirts. Plus, I'll be offering my usual same day badge commissions. Hope to see you there!
Sorry, but Slightly Damned is on a teensy weeny break. I got sick twice this month with two different illnesses, so I lost a lot of work time and am a bit behind. I need some extra time to get things in order.
From 11/30 through 12/2 I'll be selling my wares at Midwest Fur Fest in Rosemont, Illinois!
On 12/8, a guest comic by Nick Daniel will be posted! He's my friend and the creator of one of my favorite webcomics, Latchkey Kingdom! Also, my other webcomic, The Junk Hyenas Diner, will FINALLY get a 5-page update to conclude the chapter "I Scream Cake!"
On 12/15, Slightly Damned will resume updates as normal. Thank you for understanding! Life is often difficult and unpredictable.
P.S. If you backed the Slightly Damned: Book One Kickstarter back in August, the PDF of the eBook is now available! Check your inboxes or this update for the download link! The book has been sent off to the printer and the merchandise for rewards are being bought this week. We are still on track for physical rewards being delivered in January 2019!

I've applied to Midwest Fur Fest, Furry Weekend Atlanta, and Further Confusion. I'm also debating on whether or not to renew my table for Phoenix Comic Con/Fan Fest/Fan Fusion. More info as it comes!

Iratu plushies and enamel pins are now available in my online store! http://chu.storenvy.com
Act fast, though, because I'm closing the shop for approximately two weeks starting this Friday, January 5! That's because a couple of my friends are visiting from the other side of the country, and we're going to go on a mini-road trip that will ultimately end up at...
Further Confusion 2018 in San Jose, CA! (January 11-15) I'll be a dealer, and you can find my table here:

I am ALSO going to be presenting a panel on Monday, the last day of the convention, entitled "Exhibiting at Conventions"! As you can probably tell from the tile, it's aimed towards teaching people how to apply to exhibit at conventions, and what to bring and do once you've gotten a table or booth. It'll be in the Marriott, in the Guadalupe room, on Monday from 1-2:30pm. If you're still around the con and have got nothing better to do, why not drop by? I'm told I'm a pretty good public speaker!
...and then I have to drive hundreds of miles to get back home, so, uh... Slightly Damned updates will be a bit late this month. I don't think I'll have anything ready for January 13, or even the 20th, depending on when I make it back. Sorry about that. At least I won't have any other major trips or events to distract me, so I think I'll be able to make up the missed pages. I hope by February I won't have any other work to make up so I can finally implement my plan for better balance in my life. Phew.
Thanks for your patience and support!

You can find me exhibiting at Midwest Fur Fest in Rosemont, IL this weekend! I'll be selling plenty of prints, stickers, and plushies, as well as copies of The Junk Hyenas Diner: Volume One and same-day commissions!
