Hey folks! In case you didn't notice, my convention appearance plans have changed this fall. I am still definitely going to SPX on the east coast, but I decided that I unfortunately do not have the time or money to be able to make it to MICE. I've decided to attend a local convention (for me) in its place. I'm sorry I've disappointed anyone.

However, I still encourage anyone who can go to MICE in Cambridge, MA to check it out! A lot of my friends from The Center for Cartoon Studies will be there, and it's an awesome convention!
Hi folks! In case you didn't know, the Slightly Damned store section has been updated a LOT!
There's now brand-new charms along with signed books, plushies, and buttons available on my Storenvy:

And I drew up a TON of new designs and put them alongside some old classics on my Design by Humans apparel store:
Slightly Damned is back! Well, not that it really went anywhere in the first place. It was a pretty productive month! I got more Soprano of Time strips done, I designed some charms and t-shirts, and I did manage to squeeze in some time to just relax. I wish I could have gotten more done, but I think that's a feeling I'll always have no matter what. Anyway, thanks for your patience!
Even though I could have, I did not stop updating Slightly Damned throughout my whole two years of making comics at the Center for Cartoon Studies. Now I that I've graduated and am back at home, I am very tired! May was a particularly busy month. After mulling it over, I've decided that it'd be a good idea for me to take a break from making Slightly Damned pages for a month.

So... with The Junk Hyenas Diner is on hiatus until late September, and Slightly Damned on hiatus for June, does that mean I'm gonna sit on my butt this whole time doing nothing? Of course not!

First of all, the Patreon rewards will continue as normal. I'm still going to upload sketches, continue Art Wednesdays, work on more "Ask Slightly Damned" strips, and do bonus wallpapers. As of writing this I'm a little behind because of how hectic May was, and because I'm giving my hand a break after all those fun commissions I did during Phoenix Comic Con last weekend. I depend on my drawing hand for so much, and I don't want to end up wrecking it before I'm even 30!

Second, there a number of projects I've had to put off because I was working so hard trying to maintain Slightly Damned and Junk Hyenas at the same time. But now...:
- I'm going to make a serious effort to finish The Legend of Buwaro: Soprano of Time and put it into a book with other Slightly Damned-related gag comics and illustrations that were used as vote incentives and never seen again.
- The Junk Hyenas Diner: Volume One already exists as a book for my thesis project, but before this fall, I'm going to make it into a book that is available for purchase!
- I will resume my 151 Pokemon challenge. I don't know when I'll finally finish it, but I should try to make progress.
- My store has looked barren for quite a while, so I will work on fixing that with a bunch of new products soon!

Originally I was going to do a book pitch this month as well, but I've decided I've got enough on my plate as it is. I'm going to push that idea back for now, to give myself more time for my current projects, and also so I can stew on its story and characters for a bit longer.

So yeah, I've got my work cut out for me. I'm kind of on break this month, except not really! Even so, here are some cool things that I think you guys should check out in the main comic's absence:
+ Machaeus is making a tabletop RPG inspired by the world of Medius/Slightly Damned, and needs playtesters to help
-- Machaeus has been working on this RPG of his for quite some time now, and has even commissioned me on multiple occassions to draw art for it. However, he's hit a bit of a snag because he needs more volunteers to him him playtest the game. If you feel you've got the know-how, please contact him via e-mail at rpgcraftsman [at] gmail [dot] com for more information.
+ Irinore is needs acoustic musicians (and maybe singers?) for the song on this comic page
-- Irinore decided to compose music for the Angelic song that Buwaro and Kieri sang together. Here is the draft on their SoundCloud. If you think you can help them complete the acoustic version, please contact them!
+ Check out these awesome Kieri and Kazai cosplayers
-- oh my goodness gracious!!!
+ And this Buwaro cosplayer
-- He's one of my favorite people to see at Phoenix Comic Con!
+ My friends and I are still doing Blank Party!
-- We, as a group, do occasional Twitch streams, new Let's Play episodes twice a week (all videos are manually subtitled, so all deaf/Hard of Hearing viewers are welcome to enjoy), and are putting together our first comic anthology.
Hey folks! If you've been paying attention to me on Twitter or Tumblr, then you know that I'm involved in a brand-new multimedia project that my friends and I have put together! And if you don't, then that's why I'm making this post!

Me and my friends from the Center for Cartoon Studies have created Blank Party, our brand of Let's Plays and comics anthologies all about one of our most favorite things in the entire world: video games! We just started uploading videos for our first two games, ChexQuest and Banjo-Kazooie, and we're going to have a special announcement on Wednesday the 15th!

Here's our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCfplwsNZKUT_P0vZM0aUBtg (I'm sure someday Youtube will update that gobbledygook with our actual channel name)
and here's our website: http://blankparty.club/

This has been super exciting to work on and I am super excited to share it with all of you! I've been wanting to do Let's Plays and more video game stuff for FOREVER so this is like a dream come true. Enjoy, and I hope you'll consider submitting to our comics anthologies in the future!
Thanks to everyone's generous contributions on my Patreon, we've reached a new milestone! "Wednesday Art" has been unlocked, meaning every Wednesday the site will update with a new piece of artwork. In the future I'll try to use the space to make "Ask Slightly Damned" comics more frequently, or to finally finish "The Legend of Buwaro: Soprano of Time", but I have to keep things simple for now. I've only got a little over a month to package all the comics and illustrations into a package for my final review before I can graduate from school, so you bet that takes precedent above everything else! In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the new art every week.

Also, this weekend me and my buddies are heading to RIPExpo in Providence, Rhode Island! I'll have some Slightly Damned and Junk Hyenas goodies with me. Maybe I'll do commissions or something, who knows! The convention is free to attend, so if you're in the area, please stop by and say hello! We can high-five each other and everything!
I can't believe I'm still doing this comic after 11 years, but, well, here I am.

I'm very tired so I decided the anniversary was as good a time as any to take a breather from working on Slightly Damned this weekend. I've still got other work to do, so don't think I'm totally slacking off! If you want something else by me to read, please try The Junk Hyenas Diner. It just resumed updating this week with a brand-new chapter. New pages appear on the site every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Thank you for support and patience on their weird, flawed, and self-indulgent journey.
Hey folks! Sorry for the cruddy WIP page today. I really should have gotten it done a while ago, but I didn't. I had every intention in the world of being responsible during my winter break, and then... I wasn't! I spent most of my winter break relaxing. Disgusting, I know.

Anyway I'll try to get the finished page done sometime on Sunday. If you're reading this then there's a good chance one of the following is true: a) I am asleep, b) I am preparing to return to school, c) I am at an airport or in the air on my way back to school.

Thanks for always being so supportive and understanding! I'll try not to let you guys down.
Sorry there's no Slightly Damned update this weekend. Did you nab the free Thanksgiving wallpaper from my Patreon? You don't need to donate a cent to get it! I intend to continue updating Slightly Damned next Saturday and Sunday, December 6 and 7.

In the meantime, please check out the new website for my new comic series, The Junk Hyenas Diner! It's similar in tone to Slightly Damned, but it's a science-fantasy series about a couple of mutant hyenas running a diner on a hostile planet. Please give it a chance! You might even like it!
